Children's Centres

There are 27 children’s centres throughout the London Borough of Ealing, offering a range of services and activities especially for pregnant mums, babies and children up to the age of five.

The purpose of children’s centres is to provide a central place where you can access key services, support, guidance and information in order to ensure every child gets a good start in life.

A key service that now operates through children’s centres is Early Start Ealing. This is a coming together of professionals from the children’s centres, early years, health and other specialist services, including health visitors, family outreach workers, language therapists, occupational therapists and social workers.

If you haven’t yet visited a children’s centre – find your nearest at www.ealingfamiliesdirectory.org.uk

An initial appointment may be up to 2 hours, as the Midwife will explain the whole process of pregnancy and what you can expect from the Midwife service.

Mums-to-be have follow-up appointments throughout the pregnancy, usually around 15 minutes, where the Midwife will check the health of the baby and the mother. After the baby is born, there are appointments to check that both mother and baby are healthy. The Midwives Clinics are by appointment only
